Lots of windows and minimal bug spray smell. We complained and were given another room, up three more flights of winding stairs. The plug on one bedside table was completely broken and could not be plugged in, the other light sparked when we turned it on. They did not provide water in the room, which every other hotel (six others) we stayed in, in Ecuador, did.Īll the light fixtures were bare bulbs and the room smelled very strongly of bug spray. There was no night light in the bathroom in what would be a pitch-black room when the lights were out. There was not even a fan in the room to move the air. We walked into our room which was basically a brick vault with no windows except for one that opened into the windowless hallway and there was nothing to keep people from taking whatever was within reach. Then we were taken to our room, away from the main building, down a dark and winding hallway.
When we arrived, the courtyard was absolutely beautiful. We love staying in the historic districts of old cities like Quito which is why we picked this hotel.
